Music for all Ages
...Because music is for everyone
Jeff Vasey has been teaching guitar, bass, and drums for 18 years at Pro Music in Waterloo. During this time he’s been developing a new guitar program that integrates theory and ear- training, while at the same time using more current music than traditional programs. New Bass and Drum programs are also in the works for September.
While at Pro Music, Jeff ran the bandroom, and was the most requested teacher. Some of his past and current students play in Teen Violence, the Music Box, Broadcast Zero, the Band from Planet X, the Rotten, Unlimited, and Credit Valley.
When not teaching, Jeff also does recording sessions both as an engineer/producer and as a musician, fixes instruments, has played guitar and bass in several bands, including Jacob’s Room and the Morganfields. Recently finished projects include Life in Vacuum's Commander Clark, and The Music Box's Vampire songs. Currently he's working on mixing an album for Sam Coffey and the Iron Lungs, and the next batch of singles from Teen Violence.
Mike Waldeck has been teaching for several years at KW Keys in Kitchener and Preston Music Schools in Cambridge. He now teaches only for JVMS. His attention to technique and patience make him a great teacher for students from beginner to semipro. He is also the guitar player and principal songwriter in Broken Mould, a part-time project with Jeff.
Mark Wanka took lessons from Jeff for 8 years at Pro Music in Waterloo, so he was a natural addition to the family. He's now been teaching for us for 3 years. Despite his young age, he is a veteran of the local rock scene, having played in Revolver, Malaprop, Capricorn Veta, Gran Casino, and now Teen Violence. Currently Teen Violence is playing show around Southern Ontario, and finishing the next batch of singles.
